Create an app password<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Start by creating an app password in your Google Account settings. You'll use this password instead of your regular password when connecting your email account to Snov.io.<\/p>\n<div class=\"notification-block learn\">\n<div class=\"notification-block__icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/snov.io\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/themes\/knowledgebase\/assets\/img\/fluent_chat-warning-16-regular.svg\" alt=\"learn\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"notification-block__text\">An app password is an alternative to your regular password.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>It allows the application you're using to connect with your Google Account.<\/p>\n<p>To create an app password, open the <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.google.com\/security?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Security &amp; sign-in<\/a> page in your Google Account settings. You will need to generate a new app password and update it in your Snov.io email account settings.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"imap-access-in-gmail\"><strong>IMAP access in Gmail<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Gmail no longer has a setting to turn IMAP on or off, so there is nothing to enable. In Gmail settings, the <strong>Forwarding and POP\/IMAP<\/strong> tab shows only options for deleted messages and folder size limits.<\/p>\n<p>If you get an IMAP error, make sure your app password is up to date first. If you use a work or school Google account, ask your Google Workspace administrator to check whether IMAP access is turned on for your organization.
