It usually involves using another device or an email address to receive a confirmation message or code.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"notification-block note\">\n<div class=\"notification-block__icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/snov.io\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/themes\/knowledgebase\/assets\/img\/ph_circle-wavy-warning.svg\" alt=\"note\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"notification-block__text\">\n<p>Why you should enable it:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2FA makes signing in to your account more secure and helps protect it from unauthorized access. Even if someone manages to get your password, your account will remain safe.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>How to activate 2FA in your Snov.io account<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go to your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/app.snov.io\/account\/profile\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Account --&gt;<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> settings and find the 2-step authentication. Click <\/span><b>Turn on <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to configure it. Both options provide the necessary level of security \u2013 but there are certain differences which we\u2019ll describe below.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"set-up-two-factor-via-app\"><strong>Option #1: Receive code via Authenticator app or extension<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This method requires installing an authenticator app on your device (phone or tablet). Every time you log in to Snov.io, you will enter a security code from this app.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"notification-block note\">\n<div class=\"notification-block__icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/snov.io\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/themes\/knowledgebase\/assets\/img\/ph_circle-wavy-warning.svg\" alt=\"note\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"notification-block__text\">\n<p>Which apps to use:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We recommend using <\/span><b>Google Authenticator.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It's the official app from Google and the most reliable choice for two-factor authentication.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also use an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/chromewebstore.google.com\/detail\/authenticator\/bhghoamapcdpbohphigoooaddinpkbai?hl=en\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">authenticator extension for Chrome browser<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to receive security codes directly on your laptop. However, this option is less secure since it involves using a third-party extension and the same device for both logging in and two-factor authentication. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use this alternative way at your own risk.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"notification-block note\">\n<div class=\"notification-block__icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/snov.io\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/themes\/knowledgebase\/assets\/img\/ph_circle-wavy-warning.svg\" alt=\"note\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"notification-block__text\">\n<p>How to configure 2FA via Google Authenticator:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h4><b>Step 1: Install the app<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Download it here: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.google.android.apps.authenticator2&amp;hl=en\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google Play<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for Android devices, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/ru\/app\/google-authenticator\/id388497605\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">App Store<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for iOS devices.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Step 2: Add Snov.io to the authenticator app<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To activate 2FA, you'll connect your Snov.io account with the device with an authenticator app.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open the authenticator app and use the built-in scanner (not your phone's camera) to scan the QR code provided by Snov.io.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <strong>Google Authenticator<\/strong>, click + in the bottom right corner and choose <\/span><b>Scan QR-code<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. After scanning the QR code or entering the code, Snov.io will show up in the app.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"notification-block tip\">\n<div class=\"notification-block__icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/snov.io\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/themes\/knowledgebase\/assets\/img\/academicons_ideas-repec.svg\" alt=\"tip\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"notification-block__text\">\n<p>If the scanner doesn\u2019t work, you can add Snov.io to the authenticator app manually. Remember<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that the code refreshes every 10 seconds, so enter it to Snov.io before it expires.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <\/span><b>Verify <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to confirm. If you see an error, try entering the new code from the authenticator app.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Step 4. Download the backup security codes<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Backup codes are needed to confirm login if you lose access to the 2FA device or if you can\u2019t use the authenticator for other reasons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can copy the backup codes or download the PDF. Store the codes in a safe place \u2013 you won\u2019t be able to log in to your account without them.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"set-up-two-factor-via-email-address\"><strong>Option #2: Receive code via email address<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this method, you don\u2019t need to install any apps. We\u2019ll send a verification code to that address. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security you use after entering your password.
