On this page, you’ll find answers to the most common questions about DFY mailboxes service in Snov.io.
1. What are DFY mailboxes and what’s included?
In Snov.io’s DFY mailboxes service, you can purchase new domains and email accounts.
We’ll automatically set up the accounts for you:
- Configure DNS records, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC
- Connect the mailboxes to your Snovio account
- Apply all default sending settings
2. Which email provider do you use for DFY accounts? Are the mailboxes Google or Microsoft?
DFY mailboxes use email infrastructure on high-quality IP addresses, provided by Snov.io’s third-party partner. Google email accounts are not yet available.
3. How many accounts can I create per domain in DFY setup?
There’s no limit on mailbox per domain during DFY setup. We recommend no more than 5 email accounts per domain.
Scale by creating more domains, not by increasing mailboxes on one domain. This can make it look spammy.
4. Which domain extensions (TLDs) are supported? Can I use any TLD I prefer?
Snovio supports various domain extensions. See the full list of the domain TLDs.
The domains are registered for you through official registrars in the TLD (domain zone) you choose.
We recommend using .com, .org, or country-specific domains, as they usually perform best for email campaigns.
5. How long does setup take after I make an order? When will the accounts show up in my Snovio?
Your DFY orders are processed automatically within 15 minutes.
Once we set up everything, you’ll see your domains in the Domains tab. Your DFY mailboxes will appear in your Email Accounts list.
If you run into any issues or notice a delay, contact our customer care team for help.
6. Are DFY mailboxes pre warmed-up? When can I start sending?
DFY accounts are fully set up but not pre-warmed and have no sending history.
Warm them up in Snovio’s Email Warm-up to build up their sender reputation.
The minimum warm-up period we recommend is at least 2 weeks before starting the first campaign.
7. Why do DFY mailboxes have low deliverability on day 1?
Deliverability on new mailboxes is always unstable at first. This is expected because email providers treat new accounts as possible spam.
To improve deliverability, warm-up accounts using a Progressive warm-up strategy (start with a low limit, gradually increase).
8. How many emails can I send per DFY mailbox per day? How to send more than 100 emails per mailbox?
Each DFY mailbox has a technical limit of 100 emails per day. This is the maximum, not a safe limit for cold outreach.
To follow our recommendations, set your daily limit to 15 emails per day in all new mailboxes.
After warm-up, you can gradually increase it to 30 emails per day.
To send more overall, purchase more accounts and add them to the rotation.
9. How can I access the DNS settings on a domain myself?
Managing domain settings is done for you by Snov.io. You don’t have direct access to them.
If you need any DNS changes, please contact our customer care team to discuss what’s possible.
10. Can I set or change domain forwarding? Can my DFY domains forward to my main website?
Yes, you can set DFY domains to forward to your main website. After purchase, go to Email Accounts → Domains and add your forwarding URL.
11. Are tracking domains included? Do I need to set up a custom tracking domain?
DFY domains already include a custom tracking domain configured, so you don’t need to set up anything yourself.
When you enable open or click tracking in campaigns, this tracking domain is used automatically as default.
12. What’s included in the price? How does the pricing and renewal work for DFY accounts?
DFY domains and mailboxes are subscription-based. When you first purchase, the price includes a 1-year domain registration and mailbox subscriptions for 1 month.
Domains then renew annually, and mailboxes auto-renew monthly (every 30 days).
13. Can I buy more mailboxes on the same DFY domain later?
Yes, you can do it. We apply prorated billing for new mailboxes added to the active domain.
When you add new mailboxes in the middle of the month, all your existing ones renew as well to put them on the same billing schedule.
On your next renewal, you’ll get a prorated discount for the unused time.
14. What happens if my domain expires or I cancel a domain subscription? Do I keep the mailboxes from it?
If you cancel a domain or it expires, the domain itself and all mailboxes linked to it are removed from your Snov.io account, along with their settings and Unibox history. Cancel only if you’re sure you no longer need this sender account.
15. Can I reactivate expired mailboxes?
If a mailbox is not renewed on time, you’ll have a 5-day grace period to renew manually before it expires completely. After expiration, you can’t reactivate a mailbox even if the domain is still active.
Make sure your payment method is up to date and check the billing period for your mailboxes under Email accounts.
16. How do DFY accounts integrate with other Snovio tools?
DFY mailboxes work like regular sender accounts in Snov.io and can be used directly in any Snovio tool.
You can mix DFY mailboxes with your existing accounts in the same campaign through rotation.
Add them to Email Warm-up to improve deliverability, use them in Deliverability checks to test inbox placement, and set them as sender accounts in Campaigns.
17. Where can I see passwords / SMTP / IMAP details? Can I export the details to CSV?
Currently, there’s no option to export DFY account credentials. If needed, you can copy passwords and SMTP/IMAP settings from each email account’s settings.
18. Can my team access DFY accounts?
The Team Leader in a team account manages all DFY domains and mailbox subscriptions.
To share a DFY mailbox with a team member:
Open the mailbox in Email Accounts. Copy the password and SMTP/IMAP settings. Send these details to your teammate so they can connect the mailbox in their personal workspace.
DFY mailboxes cannot be reassigned or transferred between team members.
If you need to move a DFY mailbox to another user, they must manually connect it to their account (using the shared credentials).
