On this page, you’ll find answers to the most common questions about DFY mailboxes service in Snov.io.
1. What are DFY mailboxes?
In Snov.io’s DFY mailboxes service, you can purchase new domains and create multiple email accounts during one setup.
The domains are fully pre-configured and optimized for deliverability
2. Which Snov.io plans include DFY mailboxes?
DFY mailboxes are available on all Snov.io plans, including Trial as a separately purchased add-on.
3. Where can I find the DFY accounts?
You can start the setup or review the already active domains in the Email accounts → Domains tab.
Google mailboxes are in the Email accounts list with a Google domain label. Use the Filter option on the right to display already existing accounts by provider. Select Google domain to show DFY accounts only.
4. Can I use a domain I already own in a DFY setup? Does it help if it’s a Google domain?
No. Only domains purchased directly through Snov.io can be used to create Google mailboxes on them. Domains registered outside of Snov.io cannot be added.
5. Which domain extensions are supported?
For DFY accounts, Snov.io supports .com, .org, and .net domains. We recommend .com as the default choice. If the extension you enter is not supported, Snov.io will suggest a .com domain instead.
6. How many mailboxes can I create per domain?
Each domain supports up to 5 mailboxes. This limit is kept for optimal deliverability on the domain.
7. Which email provider do DFY mailboxes use? Are the mailboxes Google or Microsoft?
DFY mailboxes use Google as the email provider, with all the benefits that come with Google-based inboxes: established IP reputation and deliverability.
8. How much does the DFY setup cost?
DFY domains and mailboxes are purchased together. Each Google mailbox costs $5/month, and each domain has a yearly cost based on its extension. The minimum purchase is 1 domain and 3 mailboxes.
At checkout, the first payment includes the full yearly cost of all selected domains plus the first monthly charge for all selected mailboxes.
For example, if you purchase 1 .com domain and 3 mailboxes, your first payment will be $14 (domain) + $15 (3 × $5) = $29. After that, the domain renews annually at $14/year and the mailboxes renew monthly at $15/month.
9. How can I use DFY mailboxes in Snov.io?
You can use DFY mailboxes as sender accounts in Campaigns, add them to Email Warm-up, run a Deliverability check, sync replies in Unibox.
10. Are DFY mailboxes pre-warmed? When can I start sending?
No. DFY mailboxes are fully configured, but they have no sending history. Before starting the first campaigns, warm them up in Snov.io for at least 2 weeks. Without warm-up, deliverability on new mailboxes may be unstable. Before launch, run a Deliverability check to confirm readiness.
11. Do DFY mailboxes need SMTP for warm-up?
Yes. DFY mailboxes are created with the API connection by default, but Snov.io warm-up requires SMTP. Before starting warm-up, reconnect each mailbox via SMTP using its login credentials.
12. Are tracking domains included? Do I need to set up a custom tracking domain?
DFY domains already include a custom tracking domain configured, so you don’t need to set up anything yourself. When you enable open or click tracking in campaigns, this tracking domain is used automatically as default.
13. How many emails can I send per mailbox per day?
The recommended total limit is 50 emails per account per day or less. After the initial warm-up, send 30–40 campaign emails per day and reduce warm-up to 10 emails per day.
14. How do renewals work for domains and mailboxes?
Domains renew annually, and mailboxes renew every 30 days. Domain renewal charges are processed 10 days before expiration. Mailbox renewals are billed as one grouped subscription under the host domain. If a mailbox is not renewed on time, you’ll have a 5-day grace period to renew manually before it expires completely.
View details and manage all active subscriptions, renewal dates, and upcoming charges in the Billing settings → Domains and Emails tab.
15. Can I add more mailboxes to an existing domain later?
Yes. You can start with 3 mailboxes on one domain and add more later, up to the 5-mailbox limit per domain.
We apply prorated billing for new mailboxes added to the active domain. When you add new mailboxes in the middle of the month, all your existing ones renew as well to put them on the same billing schedule.
On your next renewal, you’ll get a prorated discount for the unused time.
16. What happens if my domain or mailbox subscription expires?
Domains and mailboxes are linked. If mailboxes are not renewed on time, the domain they are on is deleted along with all accounts. If the domain is not renewed, all mailboxes on it are cancelled and removed from your Snov.io account. After expiration, the domain or mailbox cannot be reactivated.
You can check upcoming charges and change your payment method in the Billing settings → Domains and Emails tab.
17. Can I cancel mailboxes or domains?
Yes. While subscriptions are active, you can cancel mailboxes under a domain one by one, or cancel the domain together with all mailboxes hosted on it. You can do it in the Billing settings → Domains and Emails tab.
Cancel only if you're sure you no longer need them, as they cannot be restored after cancellation.
18. Can my team access DFY mailboxes I purchased?
In Teamwork, only the Team Leader can purchase domains and mailboxes.
To share access, get the mailbox credentials (password and auth code) from Billing → Domains and Emails tab. Team members can connect those mailboxes to their personal workspaces using the account details.
19. Do DFY mailboxes use IP address rotation?
DFY mailboxes are real Gmail accounts. As with any Gmail, Google manages sending IPs on their end and assigns them automatically. Google's IP reputation is already established, which is positive for deliverability.
Spread sending across multiple mailboxes and domains rather than rotating IPs.
20. How do I access my Google mailbox directly? Where can I find the password?
Google Mailboxes from Snov.io are the real accounts and you can sign in at any time. To get the login credentials, go to Billing → Domains and Emails tab and click the three-dot menu next to the email address you need.
There you'll find the account password and auth code. The login email is the mailbox address itself.
21. Do I keep ownership of the domain and accounts?
Yes. You keep full ownership of purchased domains and accounts for the duration of the active subscription period in Snov.io. Domain and email subscriptions can only be managed from your Snov.io account and cannot be continued outside of Snov.io.
22. How can I access the DNS settings on a domain myself?
Managing domain settings is done for you by Snov.io. You don’t have direct access to them. If you need any DNS changes, please contact our customer care team to discuss what’s possible.
Sorry about that 😢
How can we improve it?
