FAQ: Email Warm-up

Snov.io Email Warm-up prepares your email account for larger-than-usual sending volumes and avoiding ESP filters to guarantee good deliverability and inbox placement.

Below are the answers to the most common questions about it:

1. How does it work?

The process works by consistent email exchanges with other warm-up users. This recreates positive email activity that improves your sender reputation.

Better reputation means better deliverability — your future campaigns are more likely to reach the Inbox, not spam or Promotions folders.

2. What type of email accounts can I add for a warm-up? Which providers does it support?

Email Warm-up works with any email service provider. Whether you’re using a popular service or a specialized SMTP host, you can connect all types of email accounts to Snov.io with just your login credentials.

Improve your deliverability and sender reputation, no matter which email service you use.

Below is a list of email providers approved for Email Warm-up. Accounts from these providers can both send and receive emails during the warm-up process. Accounts from providers not on this list can still send emails but won’t receive them. Regardless of the provider, the warm-up effect is guaranteed.

3. How much does it cost?

The Warm-up feature is included at no extra cost with every Snov.io plan. See plans.

4. What if I have email campaigns sending from the same account I wish to warm-up?

We recommend pausing your campaigns until the initial warm-up period is complete. This ensures optimal warm-up results and improved deliverability for your campaigns.

The warm-up’s duration depends on your email account’s age and condition:

When you continue real campaigns, keep the warm-up active alongside your campaigns, but reduce its daily limit to 10-20 emails. This helps upkeep your sender reputation. Read more tips and advice for best warm-up results.

It’s a good practice to keep a few warmed-up mailboxes as backups. You can add these to active campaigns while warming up or restoring the reputation of another mailbox.

5. How many email accounts can I warm up at the same time?

The number of warm-up slots you have depends on your current plan. Higher plans allow more email accounts to be added to warm-up. Your daily warm-up limit—the maximum number of emails each account can send during warm-up—also varies by plan.

Plan Trial Starter Pro 5K Pro 20K Pro 50K Pro 100K
Email accounts 1 3 unlimited unlimited unlimited unlimited
Daily warm-up limit per email 15 50 100 200 500 1000

Note: In Team accounts, the limits will be distributed across all team members. For example, if your team is on the Pro 50K plan, each member can add their mailbox for warm-up until the total number of warm-up slots reaches 12.

6. Can I use the same schedules for campaigns and warm-up?

Yes, it’s even better if you set a warm-up schedule that matches your usual email sending times for real campaigns. Regular activity on your email account makes the warm-up more effective.

7. Do warm-up emails count towards my daily sending limit?

Warm-up emails do not count towards the total sent in your email account settings. This total only includes emails from active campaigns and any test emails you send from those campaigns.

However, warm-up emails do count towards the limits set by your email service provider. To avoid exceeding your email account’s limit, consider it in when setting limits for both campaigns and warm-up.

8. Can I warm-up my email alias?

No, email accounts that are aliases of other accounts cannot be added to warm-up.

9. How do I know which emails in my Inbox are related to Snovio warm-up?

We will create a “snovio” folder in your Inbox to store all warm-up emails. You’ll also see an “snv” tag next to each email sent and received during warm-up.

10. Can I limit the number of emails I receive during warm-up?

The number of emails received by your email account is determined by a custom Reply rate set in the warm-up settings. This represents the percentage of emails that will receive replies during the warm-up process.
