Step 1: Find leads on LinkedIn
To start off, you’ll need a list of leads. LinkedIn Prospect Finder extension for Chrome is an easy-to-use and powerful tool for collecting leads directly from LinkedIn.
You can automatically save leads with pre-verified emails and LinkedIn profile URLs from multiple pages of search results in just a few clicks.
The extension also extracts public prospect data, which you can use to personalize your messages and increase your chances of getting a reply.

Step 2: Create LinkedIn sequence
In the sequence editor, you can create LinkedIn engagement scenarios that recreate how you would interact with prospects on LinkedIn.
You can automate actions like viewing and following profiles, liking posts, sending connection requests, and sending messages—all to engage with prospects as if you were doing it manually.
To add a LinkedIn action to your sequence, drag or click the LinkedIn element from the menu on the right side, then click on it to choose the action it will perform.
Below is a description of the LinkedIn actions available.
LinkedIn action 1. View profile
The first natural step to engage with your leads is visiting their profile. This action will automatically visit LinkedIn pages of your recipients. By appearing in their profile views, you put yourself on their radar.
LinkedIn action 2. Like post
This action will “like” the most recent post on the prospect’s LinkedIn profile. By engaging with their content, you show interest in what they share, which can help you build rapport and improve your chances of connecting with them.
LinkedIn action 3. Follow
Using this action, you automatically subscribe to a recipient’s LinkedIn profile. Showing up in their followers list signals your interest in their updates and line of work.
In the sequence, it’s most effective to use the Follow after Like post.
This action will be skipped for profiles who limit followers in their privacy settings or for those you’ve previously subscribed to.
LinkedIn action 4. Send connection request
After “warming up” your leads through profile views and likes, send them a connection request.
In your message, introduce yourself and explain why you want to connect. Provide value and a compelling reason for them to accept your request, while keeping it concise to fit within the 200-character limit.
Add built-in variables to dynamically personalize your messages based on the leads’ details. Incorporate spintaxes to ensure each message is unique.
Sending personalized requests increases acceptance rates. Free LinkedIn accounts are limited to 5 personalized invitations per month. You can still send connection requests without a message once you reach this limit.
LinkedIn action 5. Check if connected on LinkedIn (in the Trigger)
Add an action to check if the prospect has accepted your connection request or is already in your LinkedIn network. Depending on the result, you can decide on the best follow-up action for the next step in your sequence.
LinkedIn action 6. Message
For prospects who accept your connection request, you can follow up with a LinkedIn message. For those who don’t, consider sending an email instead. In both cases, focus on providing value and starting a meaningful conversation with the prospect.
LinkedIn messages support text, links, and emojis 🙂, but not images or attachments. Add variables to personalize your message with lead-specific details.
LinkedIn action 7: InMail
Using the InMail action, you can send messages to prospects you’re not connected with on LinkedIn.
InMail is useful for contacting leads with high conversion potential when you can’t send regular messages because they’re not part of your LinkedIn network.
Step 3: Choose a prospect list
In the next tab (Prospects) of the campaign builder, select a list containing your LinkedIn leads.
LinkedIn actions within your sequence are only possible for prospects who have a LinkedIn URL in their profile.
If any prospects in the chosen list don’t have a LinkedIn URL, they will be sent the emails in your sequence. Remove prospects without URLs if you don’t want to skip LinkedIn actions.
In sequences that have both email steps and LinkedIn actions, email filtering based on email status (do not send to) will be disabled.
Multichannel campaigns are only sent to valid, verified emails. If a lead has more than one valid email in their profile, campaign will only be sent to their primary email address.
Step 4: Choose sender accounts and set schedule
On the Sending options step, choose the sender accounts that will be used in this campaign.
- an email account for sending emails
- a LinkedIn account to perform LinkedIn actions.
Set tracking
You can enable tracking for clicks and opens in sequences with email steps. Snov.io automatically tracks replies and stops the sequence for leads who respond to any email or LinkedIn message within it.
In campaigns that only use LinkedIn steps, email tracking is turned off. We’ll track LinkedIn metrics like message opens, replies, and accepted requests.
Set campaign schedule
Scroll down to find the Schedule section. You can set the optimal time to perform LinkedIn activities when your leads are most likely to notice and reply, typically during their working hours.
Select a timezone based on your recipient’s location. The automation will follow the schedule you’ve set, performing actions only during the allowed time.
If you don’t set a schedule, the actions will be performed throughout the day at a natural pace to mimic human activity.
Step 5: Monitor automation statistics
To track the statistics of the actions performed, switch to the LinkedIn tab on the Statistics dashboard.
This page features reports for each key LinkedIn engagement metric (per selected timeframe) like Successful connections, Message replies.
Review this data to analyze how your sequence is performing and to track your campaign goals.
To track the general statistics of your LinkedIn automation, go to the LinkedIn tab on the Reports -> dashboard. It provides data on the total volume and engagement rate from all your LinkedIn campaigns and accounts.
