Summer’s here, and so are the hottest updates from Snov.io. 🔥
Despite July being a historically slow season, we haven’t slowed down.
This month, we published the results of our analysis of 44+ million emails, unveiled what truly drives engagement, hosted a webinar on building a $5M pipeline, and rolled out major product updates — all to keep your outreach sharp, even during the summer slump.
Let’s get into it!

Yes, you’ve read that right! Our team has carefully reviewed the emails sent through our platform between February and March.
Here are the results:
1. Gmail API > SMTP connection
While the Gmail API delivers an average response rate of 3.45%, SMTP comes in at a more modest 1.66%.
So, the API takes the lead in both deliverability and response rates.
2. Open tracking often comes at the cost of your reply rates
Want to boost your reply rate? Our research shows one simple tweak can make a big difference: turning off open tracking.
In fact, doing so more than doubled reply rates—2.36% compared to just 1.08%.
How does open tracking affect email deliverability?
Email providers can detect tracking pixels and may display warning banners (like Gmail’s “This message seems suspicious” alert) or, worse, send your messages straight to the spam folder.
So, how to track your email campaign’s performance?
We recommend setting up a custom tracking domain and using link tracking instead.
You can add a Clicked on link condition to your email sequence and create targeted follow-ups or special offers for interested prospects.
3. Personalization is more than just Spintax
Spintax by itself doesn’t make a big difference. In our research, reply rates were almost identical: 1.09% with Spintax compared to 1.28% without.
Adding a “Good morning” or “Good afternoon” isn’t enough to make your email truly customized to your prospect’s pain points. You need much more than that.

4. Plain text brings better results
Sometimes, keeping it simple works better: emails without elaborate links, images, or attachments earned a 1.30% reply rate compared to 1.08%.

Now, let’s move on to product updates, shall we?
Snov.io now calculates this metric using the total value of all deals created through your campaigns, including those added manually from the recipient list and those generated automatically via CRM workflows based on prospect actions.
You can also set a default reporting currency in your account settings. If a deal has a different currency, we’ll automatically convert it to your main one for consistent reporting.
Unibox keeps getting better, giving you even fewer reasons to switch back to Gmail or Outlook.
You can now add CC and BCC recipients to your emails in Snov.io, making it easy to keep teammates in the loop or include hidden recipients when needed.
Plus, in your email settings, you can add your CRM’s BCC address to automatically log every email sent from Snov.io, keeping your records up to date without extra steps.
Snov.io campaigns can now automatically check each prospect’s connection level (1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree) before continuing the sequence.
To use it, simply add the Connection Degree condition in your campaign editor.
Why use this condition?
Phew! What a month!
But we are not stopping here. Our team is already preparing something very special for you, so stay tuned!
Thanks for being a part of our community!
