1. Open your Prospects page and choose one of the lists where you would like to import new contacts or click Add List to create a new one.
2. Open the chosen list and click the Import From File button.
The pop-up window will appear and you’ll be able to select one of the files from your computer and upload it directly to your prospects list. Please note, you can only choose files in Excel, CSV or TXT formats.
3. Once you have selected and uploaded the file for importing, you will see a preview of your list and the titles of your columns.
If in the first row of your file you have the titles of the columns, not the prospects data, you need check the Use first row for headers box to avoid import error. If you want to rewrite duplicates with new information please check the Update existing contacts box.
Email is a mandatory field. Please note, you can’t have two columns with the same field. You can select necessary fields from the drop down list or create a custom one and add it to the field from your file.
When creating a new custom field, don’t forget to indicate the Type of the field – String (text), Number or Date.
When all of your columns are named, press Start the import button.
4. The import results window will show you how many contacts were processed, added, skipped, or resulted in an error during the import. In that case, you will be able to download a CSV file containing the contacts that have been skipped (if the list already contains a prospect with the same email) or got errors.
