How email sending works in Snov.io

This article explains how Snov.io sends your emails and how you can manage the sending process.

learn

When you send emails through Snov.io, it doesn't send the messages from its own servers. Instead, it connects to your own email account (such as Gmail, Outlook, etc.) and uses your provider's servers to send the email.

Here’s what that means:

1) Snov.io acts as a tool to manage and automate your outreach, while your email provider handles the actual delivery process. This means that each email appears as if you sent it yourself from your own email, and you'll find all these messages in your email application's "Sent" folder (for example, in Gmail).

2) You get full control over your email account settings. You also control your deliverability and your sender’s reputation.

3) Because your provider’s servers are used to send emails, any sending limits or deliverability rules (like daily quotas or spam filters) imposed by your email provider still apply.

tip
Review your email provider’s policies and limits. If you exceed any limits or violate policies, it may lead to a temporary suspension of your account. When this happens, Snov.io will be unable to send your campaigns and you'll see an error in your email account settings.

How you can control the sending process

The settings in Snov.io let you control the email frequency, daily limit and schedule of your email sending. The default settings are set to the recommended values, but you can adjust them as needed.

Email account settings

To customize your email settings, go to the Email accounts list and click the Edit icon on the right. Scroll down to the Optional settings section.

The following settings can be customized separately for each email account you connect to Snov.io.

  • Daily sending limit

You can set the number of emails sent per day by each connected email account. Adjust this limit in the email settings to ensure you stay within your provider's limits. Read how to set up daily limits here.

  • Delay between emails

Set the interval between sending each email. By default, there's a 30-second pause between every email, but you can change this timing to a longer one.

Campaign schedule

You can set the sending window (days and hours) when your emails should be sent. This lets you deliver emails within the recipient's working hours to make sure they get attention.

Customize your sending schedule in campaign settings. In addition, you can choose a time zone based on your recipients' location.
