In the public-market portfolio, Berkshire also raised its Alphabet stake by 83% in the second quarter to nearly 106 million shares worth about $37.8 billion, and Warren Buffett said the move was his idea.

Those moves point to a balance between traditional, service-based real estate growth and a larger tilt toward large-cap technology exposure. The Alphabet purchase signals a continued willingness to make sizable AI-related bets, while the HomeServices move shows Berkshire still competing for local market share by drawing in productive agents and teams.
