Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) is a public, historically Black university in Tallahassee, Florida, and part of the State University System of Florida. Founded in 1887, it enrolls nearly 10,000 students and has graduated more than 75,000 alumni. A broad student body comes from across the United States and more than 70 countries, representing a range of ethnic, socio-economic, and religious backgrounds.

FAMU offers more than 95 degree programs through 14 schools and colleges, along with a number of centers and institutes. Its academic footprint extends beyond the main 422-acre Tallahassee campus to satellite locations in Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa, and Brooksville, where programs include law, pharmacy, and agricultural and natural resource research and training.
