Grace Wang of L.E.K. said rehabilitation could generate significant business value over the next two to three years, and that components such as electrodes, neural signal chips, and software may create opportunities as companies build the clinical evidence needed for broader adoption. That part matters.

Investor and policy signals are positive but still selective. The BCI sector attracted more than $1.06 billion across 64 deals in the first half of 2026, and has recorded more than 20 funding events annually since 2021, while regulators have begun to clarify device classification and naming and some regions have added BCI services to public insurance coverage. Even so, safety, long-term evidence, and limited reimbursement remain constraints.
