Its latest reported half-year 2025 performance still points to resilience. Profit after tax came in at N173.4 billion, driven by robust interest income growth and supported by its diversified operations, and the result suggests the group is benefiting from the higher-rate environment even as macroeconomic pressures persist.

Signals from investors and customers are mixed. The company is still linked with positive operating momentum and external collaboration, including a partnership with the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce-Nigeria for a badminton tournament, but it also faces reputational and compliance scrutiny after a Federal Capital Territory High Court ordered it to pay N15 million in damages to two former customers in a privacy case, so it needs to protect trust while keeping earnings momentum intact.
