How to use AI Studio to write sales emails

This guide will teach you to use Snov.io's AI Email Builder to create emails that clearly convey your value to specific leads.

Before you begin, add company and product details in your Account settings. This will help generate multiple ICPs and make it easier to complete this guide. Learn how to do it in this guide.

AI Email Builder helps you create personalized emails based on your product details, value points and target leads. There are five simple steps to get to the final email drafts:

Step 1. Select a product and ideal customer profile (ICP)

Step 2. Choose unique selling points (USPs)

Step 3. Create an email draft

Step 4. Customize an email with formula and style options

To get started, click AI Studio in the top menu. As you use the tool, your generated emails will appear here. You can edit these drafts or select the ones you need for your campaigns.

Let's walk you through the AI Studio settings.

Step 1. Select a product and ICP (audience)

Select one of your added products and ICPs. We’ll use every detail of your product and potential customers to shape an offer and generate a personalized email for that segment.

To proceed, click the Create step-by-step button. Use this option if you want to manually choose what your email offer will be based on.

To get the email draft right away, click Get email in 1 click. It’s a quick way to see how the AI Email Builder works with minimal input.

This option uses the selected product and ICP to generate a complete outreach email. We’ll automatically select suitable selling points and style for your email.

Step 2. Choose unique selling points (USP)

The AI will suggest 9 selling points based on your product details and ICP profile. These selling points help your email clearly show your value. Choose the ones that you want to focus on in your email.

TIP: You can choose up to 4 unique selling points. The AI will incorporate each into the email drafts it generates.

If the AI-suggested points don’t match your offer, you can generate more, edit or add your own.

To edit a USP, hover over it and click the pencil icon ✎ in the top-right corner.

Tips for writing precise USPs

  • Be specific and avoid general words like “quality” or “innovative”:
    "We are the only online language tutoring platform that matches students with native-speaking tutors within 60 seconds, 24/7."
  • Include a clear outcome or result the customer gets:
    "Our software reduces invoice processing time by 70% for mid-sized businesses, with no coding required."
  • Specify your target audience clearly:
    "A time-tracking tool designed for freelance designers who need to bill clients accurately and present clear reports."
  • Mention pain points your product solves:
    "A cloud backup service for small law firms that protects sensitive documents without complex setup or IT support."
  • Use numbers, facts or timeframes when possible:
    "An email marketing tool that helps e-commerce brands grow their revenue by 25% in 3 months using automated product recommendations."
  • Use plain language, as buzzwords blur meaning:
    "We help local businesses get found on Google and Instagram without big agency fees or complicated marketing plans."
  • Highlight what makes you different:
    "Our task management app is the only one that works fully offline, so remote teams in low-connectivity areas can stay productive."

Step 3. Create email draft

Our next step shows four email variants based on your previous inputs. Pick one draft you like best or select all four. You’ll fine-tune your choice with custom AI prompts next.

What you can do:

Regenerate: Ask AI to create a new variant using the same input. You can copy and paste any version directly into your campaign once you're happy with it.

Improve further: Choose the drafts you prefer (even all four) to make them more targeted. In the next step, you’ll apply a specific writing style and focus. Unlike Regenerate, this lets you refine content based on your campaign goals and desired outcomes.

All generated drafts remain available in your AI Studio history. You can return at any time to review or refine them, even if you copy them and leave the page.

Step 4. Customize email with formula and style options

At the final step of AI Studio, you can make your draft even more engaging with the help of: 

  • Email formula 
  • Email style 
  • Your own AI prompt 

In drop-downs, pick a formula and a writing style to make it sound the way you want.

How styles and formulas work together

Pick a style that matches your brand voice and campaign tone. Then choose a formula that fits your email’s goal, whether that’s grabbing attention, sparking curiosity or sealing the deal. The AI will then create a message that combines these elements for maximum effect.

Styles shape how that message feels. You can choose to sound bold and direct or warm and friendly, so styles let you match the tone to your brand and audience.

Use a custom prompt to tell the AI exactly which parts or aspects of the email draft you want to change. For example, you could type a prompt to:

  • Highlight a specific product benefit or pain point
  • Improve clarity and simplify complex phrases
  • Adjust the tone to be more informal and conversational
  • Rewrite the subject line to create urgency or curiosity
  • Add stronger emphasis on ROI or cost-saving benefits
  • Turn the email into a follow-up with a warm, natural tone
  • Reframe the message to align with a specific goal (e.g., booking a call, re-engaging a cold lead)      

It guides the AI to match your tone or style and adapt the message to different scenarios, helping you create a more purposeful email while saving time on edits.

To add important details or your personal touch, make edits directly in the editor.

You can also add emojis for a more informal and friendly appearance.

If your campaign targets other countries, you can translate the same email for different audiences.

Once the email is ready, you can save it as a template or add email to your campaign sequence.

Upon completion, you can check all the details that went into creating the email by clicking About this email at the top.
