How to scale LinkedIn outreach safely

LinkedIn Automation guide, part 6 of 7: Scale and optimize. Step 10 of 14. Previous: Analyze your statistics. Next: Use LinkedIn rotation. See all steps.

This article explains how to scale your LinkedIn outreach safely: plan your volume, improve your SSI score, use flexible limits, connect more accounts, rotate senders and use separate proxies.

LinkedIn sets limits on platform usage and the number of activities accounts can perform. However, there are safe ways to increase your daily action limits when using LinkedIn Automation in Snov.io.

Plan your outreach volume

Before you scale, work out how many prospects you want to reach and how much your profiles can send.

  • Set a weekly target. For example, 200 connection requests per week.
  • Check the SSI of each profile. The SSI sets the safe daily limit for that profile. See the limits by SSI score in this guide.
  • Compare your target with what your profiles can send. If the target is higher, connect more profiles or improve their SSI to unlock higher limits.

As a rule of thumb, one profile is enough for around 100 requests per week. For 200 to 300 requests per week, you may need two or three profiles to distribute the activity.

Improve SSI score

SSI is based on four factors: activity, engagement, network quality and profile completeness. Snov.io updates the SSI of each connected account automatically, so you can see when it is safe to raise your limits.

For higher limits, your accounts need to develop and maintain a good reputation on LinkedIn. There’s a special metric for that – the SSI score. A higher score reflects a stronger account ready to perform more actions.

Before increasing your limits, check your SSI score first and see what limit it supports. Setting a higher limit could result in LinkedIn blocking your account.

Monitor your score directly in your LinkedIn account settings.

The SSI grows from positive engagement, the quality of your network and the completion of your profile.

Here’s a checklist to increase your SSI score:

  • Complete every profile section—headline, summary, skills, and experience.

  • Publish at least one post per week.

  • Share original content with personal insights or industry expertise.

  • Connect with professionals in your industry, not just potential leads.

  • Comment on trending posts in your field.

  • Join relevant LinkedIn groups and events.

To grow your SSI score, be active on LinkedIn: create original posts, comment and share relevant posts (including your prospects' posts). Read more in our blog.

When your SSI grows, raise your limits gradually. Increase one action type at a time instead of scaling connection requests, messages, profile views, likes and follows all at once.

Use flexible (dynamic) limits

Flexible limit mode randomizes the number of daily actions within the minimum and maximum you set. It is safer than a fixed limit, because repetitive activity is easier for LinkedIn to detect. Your maximum should still match your SSI score. See this guide for recommended fixed and flexible limits by SSI score.

Warm-up LinkedIn accounts

Warm-up mode increases your daily connection requests gradually, so your outreach volume looks natural to LinkedIn. If your account has been inactive, do some manual activity first. See this guide to enable warm-up and adjust its settings.

Connect more LinkedIn accounts

If one account's limits aren't enough for your outreach, connect additional LinkedIn profiles to Snov.io to use as senders in your campaigns.

Each LinkedIn account requires a slot. To connect more accounts, first add slots on the LinkedIn accounts page.

LinkedIn slots are flexible and have prorated billing: you pay for the slot, not per account connection.

This means you can change the profile connected to the slot up to 3 times a month. We use dedicated proxies for each account to ensure they have a unique footprint (so LinkedIn sees them as separate users).

tip

Important: LinkedIn policy states users can only have one account and recommends merging duplicate accounts.

If you decide to use multiple LinkedIn profiles at the same time, consider using the accounts of your team members. If LinkedIn detects duplicate profiles of one user, it may close or restrict them.

Use LinkedIn account rotation

As your prospect list grows, one LinkedIn account may not be enough to perform a sequence for more leads.

Setting high limits on just one account will likely lead to a ban. A safer way to increase your limits is by using LinkedIn rotation. It allows connecting multiple  accounts to the same campaign.

In your campaign settings, you can add up to 5 LinkedIn sender accounts. Snovio will rotate them automatically and assign prospects equally to each account.

Account rotation increases your total daily volume while allowing to keep each profile within recommended action limits. Learn how to use it.

To enable rotation, add at least two LinkedIn accounts in the campaign settings. Once a LinkedIn profile performs the first action in the sequence, that sender is assigned to the recipient for the rest of the sequence.

Use a separate proxy for each account

Every LinkedIn account in Snov.io runs through a dedicated proxy, so LinkedIn sees each account as a separate user. If you use your own proxy, use a unique one for each connected account and keep its location the same as the location you log in from. See this guide to set up a custom proxy or update your proxy location.

Follow LinkedIn's guidelines

LinkedIn does not publish the exact weekly limit for sending requests or messages, and LinkedIn Premium plans don’t officially raise it.

As stated by LinkedIn, all LinkedIn members (Free, Basic and Premium) are subject to invitation limits and restrictions.

What LinkedIn Premium really gives you:

  • InMail credits for InMail messages – contact prospects on LinkedIn without sending a connection request.

  • Bigger profile view limit on Sales Navigator

  • Unlimited personalized requests: Premium users can add messages with every connection request. Free accounts can add a note to only 5 requests per month.

Use Email as a backup or additional channel

When your LinkedIn limit isn’t enough to contact all your prospects, combine it with the email channel. The limits for email are much higher than LinkedIn's, allowing you to compensate for the lower limits in your LinkedIn account.

Snov.io’s campaigns are multichannel. Add both email and LinkedIn actions to your sequences to combine the limits from the two channels. In our Finder tools, you get prospects with contacts for both channels: LinkedIn URL and email address.

For email accounts, you don’t need slots — connect unlimited accounts at no extra cost. Remember: newly created email accounts need preparation for best performance:

1) Start warm-up

2) Check domain health and add DNS settings for the domain if necessary

3) Run regular deliverability tests to detect issues and get personalized advice on how to fix them

Manage pending requests

Too many unanswered pending requests can hurt your account rating. Withdraw requests that stay pending for more than 14 days, or turn on automatic withdrawal in your Snov.io account. See this guide.

Monitor LinkedIn statistics

When your LinkedIn actions have high engagement rates, you can set higher limits with a lower risk of restrictions, as LinkedIn will view your activities as well-targeted. For example, if your acceptance rate is above 40-50%, you can try increasing the request limit.

Monitor the automation results and adjust the limits based on the engagement. Check your LinkedIn statistics on the Reports dashboard.
