How to write prompts for AI Assistant
AI Assistant asks when something is unclear instead of guessing, so your prompt does not have to be perfect. A clearer prompt just gets the task done in fewer steps.
Two ways to start
- Name the result you want. "Build a list of 50 marketing directors at SaaS companies in Germany" tells AI Assistant what to deliver.
- Name the process you want to work on. If you are not sure where to begin, say something like "I want to set up an outreach campaign". AI Assistant suggests options and walks you through them.
To run your task, open AI Assistant in your account. Read this guide to learn about its settings.
What to include in your AI Assistant prompt
- The task. One task per chat works best. If you are not sure AI Assistant can do the task, just ask it.
- Your assets, named as they appear in your account. Use the real names of your lists, campaigns, templates, and prospects. If a name is missing or unclear, AI Assistant asks which one you mean.
- The output, for analysis and checks. Say how you want the answer when the task is analysis, filtering prospects, or checking account statuses: a summary, a table, or just the counts. For list building and verification, the output is already defined (a list of results), so you do not need to describe it.
Brief and detailed prompts
With a brief prompt, AI Assistant asks many clarifying questions before it starts. A detailed prompt gets the task done right away.

What to do in the app instead
AI Assistant cannot do these tasks yet. Use the alternatives:
- LinkedIn Search: use LinkedIn Search in the app, then ask AI Assistant to work with the saved list.
- Writing email copy: use Generate messages with AI from the enrichment tools.
- Replying to LinkedIn conversations: reply directly from Unibox or your LinkedIn.
- Enrichment tools: use Fill out from web, Clean and edit, and Generate messages with AI in the app or through MCP. See this guide.
- Building an ICP from a website: set it up in Product and ICP.
Sorry about that 😢
