Why LinkedIn Automation is paused

In this article, you’ll learn why your LinkedIn automation may stop and how to fix it.

Your LinkedIn Automation may pause when Snov.io is unable to run it due to an issue. This can happen if your LinkedIn account disconnects or you’ve reached your LinkedIn action limits.

tip

What does it mean when the LinkedIn campaign is paused?

When using our LinkedIn Automation tool, you may notice that your campaign shows a "Paused" status. If you didn’t pause it yourself, there may be an issue that needs your attention.

Reasons why LinkedIn automation isn’t working

Let’s review the most common issues and how to resolve them.

1) Connection with the LinkedIn account was lost

If your LinkedIn account disconnects from Snov.io, your campaign will pause because there’s no active account to perform actions. When this happens, you’ll see a notification about the error on the campaign list.

To fix this issue, go to your LinkedIn account settings in Snov.io and reconnect your account. Then, manually change the campaign status to Active to restart the automation.

To prevent interruptions in the automation, add multiple accounts to LinkedIn rotation. This way, if one account disconnects, you can assign the other account as a backup.

2) Sender LinkedIn account was deleted from Snovio

If you delete the LinkedIn account from Snov.io, the automation using that account will stop.

If you have an available LinkedIn slot, you can reconnect with the same account or add a different one.

To restart automation, add a sender LinkedIn account in the paused campaign’s settings, then change the campaign status to Active.

3) Your LinkedIn slot expired

If your LinkedIn slot expires, any automations using that account will stop. Renew access to your slot on the LinkedIn accounts list.

To ensure your slots extend automatically, enable automatic renewal for your LinkedIn add-on in the billing settings.

To restart LinkedIn automation, change the status of the paused campaign to Active.

4) Your Team leader withdrew your LinkedIn slot

If your team leader granted you the slot where your account is connected, any automations using that account will stop if access to the slot is revoked.

Check with your team leader about slot access or get your personal LinkedIn slot in account settings.

5) Sender LinkedIn account reached weekly limits

LinkedIn sets weekly limits on the number of connection requests and messages that can be sent. This directly affects your limit for LinkedIn automation actions in Snov.io.

If your LinkedIn account, used for sending requests, reaches the weekly invitation limit, the campaign will pause.

Snov.io will notify you on the campaign page when this happens. Once LinkedIn resets your limits (usually on Mondays), manually set the campaign status to Active to resume automation.

6) Your LinkedIn profile requires verification

If LinkedIn requests that you verify your identity, your account will be temporarily locked, which will pause any campaigns using it. Snov.io won’t be able to access it for automation.

Complete the verification as required by LinkedIn. Once done, check your account status in Snov.io.

If the connection is inactive, go to settings, select the Reconnect option, and enter the verification code to restore it.

7) Sender LinkedIn account was blocked or restricted

LinkedIn may have temporarily restricted your account due to suspicious activity.

While your LinkedIn account is restricted, Snovio cannot perform the automation and will pause it.

Check your LinkedIn profile for notifications regarding your account status. Learn why LinkedIn accounts are restricted and how to avoid it.

tip

Tip: Connect multiple LinkedIn accounts and add them to rotation within the same campaign. If one account experiences issues, you can use an alternative account as a backup to keep the automation running.

8) The LinkedIn automation is on hold due to settings

If your campaign shows as Active but no actions are being performed, it’s likely due to your settings.

Ensure your sequence isn’t on hold due to incorrect settings. Check if there’s a Delay step (a waiting time before the next action) or if the sequence is waiting for the sending window (scheduled time) to start.

If an issue persists, please contact our support team for assistance.

9) The LinkedIn automation is paused for the recipient because of an email error

In a multichannel sequence (email + LinkedIn actions), if an issue with your email account occurs, the LinkedIn automation will still continue. Likewise, if a connection is lost with your LinkedIn account, the email sequence will continue.

This makes a multichannel campaign the best choice to make sure your outreach never interrupts.

To resolve this issue, check your email account status, reconnect or adjust settings as necessary, and manually restart the campaign.

But there’s one exception to this: if an email bounces for a specific recipient, the automation for that prospect will stop. To resume it, go to the Recipients tab and manually change their status to Active.
