How to reconnect your LinkedIn account

In this article, you’ll learn why a LinkedIn account may disconnect from Snov.io and how to reconnect it.

In your LinkedIn outreach campaigns or sequences with LinkedIn actions, you may see a Connection lost error in the campaign status, indicating that LinkedIn automation has been paused.

note
What is a “Connection lost” error?
This error means Snov.io lost access to your LinkedIn account while trying to perform a LinkedIn action. If that campaign includes email, the email sequence will continue as planned.

What are the reasons for a lost connection

There are several reasons why a LinkedIn account might disconnect.

1) Outdated credentials

Snov.io uses the LinkedIn credentials you provided when you first connected an account. If you've changed a password since then, the connection will be lost when we attempt to access your account for automation purposes.

How to fix:

Go to your LinkedIn account's settings and select the disconnected account. Click Reconnect and update your email and password for LinkedIn.

If you ever change your LinkedIn details again, update them in Snov.io as well to prevent connection loss during automation.

2) Additional sign-in verification required

LinkedIn often asks users to confirm sign-ins to their account when a third-party app tries to connect.

When Snov.io connects during automation, you may need to confirm this sign-in. If not done in a timely manner, the connection to your account may be lost.

This confirmation may be a code sent to your email or a verification prompt on your phone if you have 2FA enabled in your LinkedIn profile.

How to fix:

Check your email or phone for messages from LinkedIn. This could be an important message to verify the connection. If it has already been lost, go to your LinkedIn account, select the Reconnect option in the settings, and enter the verification code.

3) Your account got restricted or blocked by LinkedIn

If LinkedIn temporarily restricts your account due to suspicious activity or exceeding limits, your LinkedIn connection may be lost.

How to fix:

Check your LinkedIn profile for notifications about your account status. Are you seeing any security warnings when trying to sign in? LinkedIn may display a warning before restricting or blocking your account.

tip

If you receive a warning, here’s how to avoid getting blocked:

- Pause LinkedIn automation for a few days, but your email sequence can continue running.

- Lower your daily action limits when you restart automation. After a few days, you can gradually return to your usual limits.

How to reconnect the account after a lost connection

Once you've resolved the possible reasons for the lost connection, you can reconnect your account in Snov.io.

note

Why do you need to restore the lost connection?

Snov.io needs an active connection to your LinkedIn account to perform automation actions.

To restore your account connection, reconnect it in your LinkedIn account settings.

To reconnect your LinkedIn account:

Go to the LinkedIn accounts list. Click the Edit icon next to the disconnected account.

Select the Reconnect option in the settings at the bottom. A verification code will be sent to your email — enter it in the pop-up window to verify the connection.

Once Snov.io restores it, check your account status. If it's active, you can resume your automation.

How to resume LinkedIn automation after a lost connection

Once your account connection is restored, you can restart LinkedIn automation.

To do it, go to your Campaigns list and change the status of the Paused campaign to Active.

tip

Tips for a safe automation restart:

- If your account was restricted, start with a lower daily limit than before. Check your SSI score in the settings and adjust the limits for actions accordingly.

- If your LinkedIn outreach was inactive for a while, follow a warm-up process by gradually increasing your daily limits. This will help avoid getting blocked.
