Email Finder
One of the top Hunter.io features, this email finder supports both individual searches and domain-level discovery. You can enter a company domain to see available contacts, or search for a specific person using their name and company.
From the Finder’s menu, you can add the prospect to your list or sequence, as well as subscribe to updates about their company.
There’s also an option to find email addresses in bulk. The bulk Finder is useful for teams uploading lead lists that contain names, company domains, and social media links (though the latter is optional).
Email Verifier
This tool checks syntax, domain validity, and mailbox availability, which is suitable for basic list hygiene.
Each email is assigned a deliverability status to help reduce bounce rates. The status is color-coded: green means the address is safe, yellow suggests caution, while red indicates an invalid address.
Discover
That’s basically a B2B database where you can find companies that fit your ICP (Ideal customer profile) and view known addresses of their employees. All you need to do is configure filters.
The tool displays company-associated emails, confidence scores, departments, and positions when available.
Signals
This Hunter.io feature highlights companies showing buying intent through hiring or growth activity.
The Signals feature helps you find relevant prospects using intent data and be ready to contact them right away.
Chrome Extension
This Email Finder Chrome extension lets you find email addresses (plus social media profiles or phones when available) directly on company websites.
Just add the Hunter.io extension to your Google Chrome browser and prospect on the go.
Campaigns
Hunter includes a basic outreach feature that lets you send cold emails, schedule follow-ups, and track opens and replies. Besides, it offers an AI email writer (a premium feature) to polish your copy.
As for campaign reporting, freemium users are limited to tracking pens and clicks per recipient. More advanced reporting capabilities that cover multiple campaigns are available only on paid plans.
Integrations
In addition to the above-mentioned Hunter.io features, users can integrate the platform with popular CRMs such as HubSpot, Pipedrive, and Salesforce, as well as other apps via Zapier.

Hunter.io review: My hands-on experience
I tested basic Hunter.io features by myself by subscribing to its free plan, and I’d love to share my findings with you.
It took me just a couple of minutes to sign up and start using the tool. I appreciate the interface’s logic and clarity – everything looks very intuitive and simple, so you don’t even need a lengthy onboarding. In case of any questions or issues, I could turn to the recommended guidelines or the customer support team, which was quick to reply.
I tried the database search, and what I liked from the start is a helpful AI search, which finds prospects based on your prompts.
The tool worked well for me while researching the broad segments. However, when it came to narrowing down my audience, issues showed up. The filter options are very limited, in my opinion, even on the paid plans. So while it looked like the solution provided me with tons of leads, many of them were irrelevant because I couldn’t filter them effectively.
Bulk uploads worked a bit better. Hunter can find emails when provided with names and domains pretty quickly. Still, there were some addresses I couldn’t spot.
Also – and it’s a huge minus for me – I couldn’t source leads from LinkedIn with Hunter’s extension.

Verification worked smoothly and helped filter out risky emails before export.
As for the campaign builder, frankly, it felt very restrictive for me because I couldn’t see the entire flow, unlike with Snov.io, for example. The A/B testing feature is also missing, making it much more difficult to optimize future campaigns. Plus, I couldn’t add any other actions to the campaign beyond initial emails and follow-ups, as the tool doesn’t support multichannel outreach.
While testing an email copy, I found that Hunter.io offers a library of ready-made templates – it looks really helpful for beginners.
But message-diversification features are very limited on the free plan. You can only enter basic attributes, such as the recipient’s first name, industry, and location. Advanced variables, dynamic content, and AI email-writing features are available, but only on paid tiers.
A good thing is that it offers a spam score checker embedded into an email builder. But, in my opinion, Hunter.io lacks a complex deliverability toolset, which is essential for safe cold outbound in 2026. You won’t find a warm-up or inbox placement rate checker on the platform.
Plus, Hunter.io doesn’t provide options for lead scoring and management. For me, this is not viable. Having to install all these additional tools usually triggers that app-switching fatigue, plus it’s a real budget-drainer.
Overall, Hunter.io does its job well as an email finder, but its functionality looks a bit limited.

Given that Hunter.io doesn’t offer features such as warmup, A/B testing, multichannel automation sequences, or lead scoring, I wouldn’t list Hunter.io’s pricing policy as an advantage. You can get a much more robust functionality for the same price on other platforms.
